The 2017-19 season will be the first for the new streaming service to launch, as NBC Sports will be launching the NHL Now streaming service in the summer of 2018.9 / 2 ESPN and NBC will debut the NHL Live video on-demand channel, with each channel providing an online version of the broadcast.10 / 2 In the spring of 2019, NHL fans will be able to watch their favorite NHL stars in the comfort of their own home.11 / 2 Fans can now download and stream the full season of NHL on demand to their desktop or mobile devices, allowing them to stream games and other content from the NHL without needing to travel.12 / 2 A new, improved NHL mobile app will be launched in the coming months, and NHL fans can expect to see more NHL-branded mobile apps in the near future.13 / 2 New, more accessible ways to watch NHL games are coming.
NHL Mobile will make it easier to watch games in HD, and will include a dedicated app for fans to stream and watch games, along with a dedicated NHL app on iOS and Android.14 / 2 Players and teams will be given a full year of NHL Live, giving fans the best experience yet with live streaming, exclusive on-ice content and other features.15 / 2 Starting in 2020, the NHL will debut its new digital-only streaming service called NHL Live Extra.
