Diesel performance shops in India are set to begin selling diesel-powered cars starting from April 2017.
The new vehicles will come with new diesel engine designs that have lower emissions than their petrol-powered counterparts.
The diesel-equipped cars will have all-wheel drive and are expected to have lower fuel consumption than their conventional counterparts.
According to an announcement by the Automotive Council of India, the diesel-fueled vehicles will be available in Delhi and Mumbai and will be the first vehicles to come on the market.
Diesel-powered vehicles will have a range of 50-150km and offer a range between 0.5 and 2.5 litres.
The fuel economy of the vehicles will range between 30-40mpg.
The cars will come in two variants – the “Diesel Super Sport” and the “Super Super Sport”.
Both cars will be offered in three trim levels – “Super” Sport (0-100km), “SuperSport” (100-150kms), and “Super Sport Plus” (150-200km).
