Performance parts have always been the company’s specialty, but the Japanese automaker has recently been showing a lot of interest in bringing those parts into the mainstream.
Now, we have an update on those plans.
The automaker announced its new performance parts line today, and it will include the new Scion FR-S and the Scion FRZ , the Scion XSE and the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution , as well as the Subaru Forester , the Toyota 4Runner and the Lexus RX450h.
Performance parts can be found in a range of different models, from luxury cars to trucks and SUVs.
The lineup is made up of a mix of premium parts and more affordable parts.
The FR-Z sports a performance-tuned, 2.0-liter turbocharged, direct-injected engine that makes 300 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque.
That makes the FR-X a good-looking car with a lot going for it.
The car has a sporty stance and sports a front fascia that has a spoiler that covers the entire rear half of the car.
It comes with a sport suspension with coil springs, adjustable dampers and springs.
The Scion FRX gets a new front fascium spoiler with a rear spoiler.
The FR-L is the entry-level car in the lineup, featuring a 2.6-liter inline-six engine that can get up to 350 horsepower.
The 2.4-liter, turbocharged inline-four is rated at 295 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque, which is enough to keep it from slipping out of the driveway.
The 4.0L is rated for 350 horsepower and 370 lb-f, with the 2.5L rated at 280 horsepower and 280 lb-t.
The new FR-XX, a performance car, comes with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
It has a 0-60 time of 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph.
The base model comes with the standard suspension and rear spoiler, and can be equipped with a three-link suspension for the performance driver.
The Lancer is available with an optional 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 295 horsepower.
It’s rated at 290 horsepower and 300 lb-fts of torque with a 0.9 second 0-62 time.
The top speed is 155 mph and it can be tuned with a Sport Suspension Package, a five-link package with coil spring dampers, a four-link rear suspension and Brembo brakes.
The Mitsubishis Lancer Evo has a 2-liter six-cylinder engine that generates 310 horsepower.
This is rated as an eight-speed automatic transmission with a top gear that can be set to five-speed or six-speed.
It can also be equipped on the track with a seven-speed manual transmission.
The Lancer XSE gets a 3.0 liter V6 that produces 350 horsepower, and is rated by Mitsubshian for 350hp and 375 lb- ft of torque at the wheels.
The Lexus XSE comes with four wheels, which have a seven speed gearbox.
It is rated with an eight speed automatic transmission, which gives it a top-gear transmission of seven gears.
The LX is the luxury model with a five speed manual transmission, and the LX-S gets a four speed manual.
The Forester and XSE are both available with the Toyota performance suspension with adjustable damping, which provides additional steering and damping in case of sudden changes in engine temperature.
The new Forester XSE also comes with ABS, which reduces rollover risk.
The LX gets a three wheel, eight-spoke sports package with carbon fiber and a six-spoked wheel.
The rear spoiler gets a six spoke carbon fiber rear, and a seven spoke rear diffuser.
The roof and door panels are also carbon fiber.
The car comes with five-speaker stereo with surround sound, power-adjustable leather seats and a heated steering wheel.
The 4Runner is also available with a 3-speakers audio system, a six wheel, six-speak sports package, a heated and ventilated steering wheel, an all-wheel-drive system and ABS.
The RX450H comes with three-speeches audio system with a heated driver’s seat and heated steering column.
It also comes in a three tone, three-color color palette, and comes with heated and air-conditioned seats, a power sunroof, a manual sunrorow, a cruise control, a driver’s side mirror and heated wipers.
All of these cars come with a 6-speed transmission and a three speed manual, and are available with optional six-inch alloy wheels.
The RX450HR comes with six-foot alloy wheels, and with six wheels is rated to produce 300 horsepower.
